Business self-check and submission procedure

Use the public entry criteria to assess a business, then submit a listing. Sign in through Login to send and track a suggestion. Submissions remain pending until editorial approval. This guide itself does not send anything.

Start with the entry bar

The six entry criteria govern independence, a recognisable offering, a direct operator destination, access to a human and the excluded categories. Passing this self-check is not an assessment or a promise of publication.

Run the findability checklist and read your homepage does not say what you sell. A stranger should be able to understand the offer before a description is written about it.

The useful reference fields

A conforming submission process should ask for the business name, its public destination, a plain description of what it offers and the evidence for independence. A contact route is useful for clarifying a fact, not for adding the operator to a marketing list.

Ask for no field that cannot affect the assessment. Do not submit private credentials, unnecessary personal data or a residential address excluded by the Line.

What a conforming assessment requires

  1. Log the received suggestion without publishing it.
  2. Check the destination using the method.
  3. Have a named person assess all six entry criteria.
  4. Write an original, factual description only when the evidence clears the bar.
  5. Bind the published check date to an actual dated record and identify the reviewer and method version.

These are specification requirements. No completed review, review time, refusal rate or current queue is evidenced here.

Money cannot change the result

A conforming process must have no paid placement, faster-review lane, sponsored slot or fee for reconsideration. Buying a template or anything else must not affect consideration. See who pays for this.

The refusal reference explains criterion-based patterns without naming or shaming real businesses. A refusal is about the scope of the register, not a quality rating. A corrected issue can be assessed again only through an actual, separately established process.

Suggesting someone else's business

The same criteria must apply. A conforming publisher should verify the operator's situation before publishing and must honour a later removal request promptly and without charge. A hostile suggestion creates no channel for publishing a negative review.

Read should you be on a directory before spending effort on listings. The useful answer may be no. The register is currently a schema and reading guide, not a populated catalog.

Questions about the procedure

Can I submit a business here?

Yes. Use the listing submission form. This page explains the criteria; submitting does not guarantee publication.

Can money buy a faster review?

No. The public standard prohibits paid placement, priority review and fees for reconsideration.

Does passing the self-check guarantee a listing?

No. A real assessment would require dated evidence, a named reviewer and all six entry criteria.
